Owing to its vast territory, large population, abundant resources and cultural heritage,China has tremendous influence on the international community.Chinese language is one of the official languages authorized and used in the United Nations. Therefore,in South Korea, learning Chinese language has become all the rage these days.Generally speaking, the ultimate goal of foreign language education is for smooth communications. For South Koreans,to exchange thoughts with Chinese people without any obstacles, what they need is not only to use language through receiving education in classes, but having good understanding of Chinese culture is as well as important. However, the design and study of Chinese textbooks for Chinese learners in South Korea started after 2000,therefore,the study for cultural column is very short and insufficient.Through taking focuses on the cultural columns in the first three Chinese textbooks with the highest usage rates in Korea as the research objects and a questionnaire survey of 63 Korean university students and Chinese learners who learn Chinese as the basis, this paper conducts analysis on the cultural columns in the existing textbooks and points out the corresponding improvement direction for the current defaults and the real needs of Chinese learners. What's more, based on the "Daleyuan Chinese Conversations",this paper also gets contents and forms of the cultural column rearranged. For the original Korean primary Chinese textbooks, the cultural column appears at the end of each unit and is easily overlooked by the students.Plus, because of the improper material selection and the cultural column's lack of relevance to the main text, which gives rise to the result that the students are not interested in the content of the cultural column. From the perspective of Korean students' needs for learning Chinese,it is always desirable to include appropriate cultural content, especially interesting and practical cultural content,in language textbooks. Many studies on the teaching of culture and language have shown that even at the initial stage of language, cultural factors can provide useful help for language learning. To the above-mentioned shortage of teaching materials, the author proposes in the fourth chapter the recommendations for the rewriting of the cultural column for Korean primary Chinese textbooks. It will print the diversity of Chinese culture into the textbooks and seek cultural materials from all aspects of material, spiritual, and operational aspects, highlighting contemporary nature and prevalence of Chinese culture,so as to meet and adapt Korean students" understanding and expectations of Chinese culture, bring more the use of practical picture materials into the textbooks,in an attempt to adjust their position in the textbooks, and increase its interest,so as to attract students' attention to the cultural column, thereby increasing their knowledge of Chinese culture and promoting Chinese language learning.
