Illuminating The World Of Women: "Tianxiang" Theory

Wang Anyi's novel titled Tian Xiang was finished in Oct.2010,since it was published in Harvest at the beginning of 2011,it had received countless attention in literature filed.This novel told a story about the development and spreading of Tianxiangyuan embroidery,shown everyday life of Tianxiangyuan's women and the background of Ming dynasty in regions south of the Yangtze River.In recent studies,most essays about Tian Xiang talked about Shanghai narrative,female image,how literature imagine history and the relationship between Tian Xiang and The dream of red mansion.In this thesis is based on these studies and I am going to analyze how Tian Xiang imagine and print a wonderful women's world by discuss the female characters and their women's community.The first chapter begin with the trait of female perspective in Tian Xiang,did close reading on female characters like Xiaochou,Ming,Xizhao and Huilan,discuss how they observe their life as a daughter-in-law in family.Next,this thesis is going to discuss how their women's community was founded by analyzing the relationship between sister-in-law,mother-in-law and daughter-in-law,master and servant,and the unique significance of their women's community in the history of literature.The second chapter of this thesis compared the these female characters in novel and their prototyping in true history.This thesis thought that in the process of imagining and restricting the history of Gu's embroidery,Wang Anyi had shown her brief that writing nihility this with substaintial material: the novel told story about embroidery and shown the possibility of self-fulfillment in doing stichwork.The women's community in novel has a sense of utopianism,and the process of tracing the tradition of Gu's embroidery is also the process about tracing and imaging that utopia.The tired chapter go deeply into the color of utopianism in this novel.In many years writing,Wang Anyi thought deeply about the possibility of self-fulfillment in everyday life,form Ouyang Duanli in 1980 s to Fuping in the beginning of new century,to the female characters in Tianxiang.in Tianxiang,Wang Anyi had found the highlight in women's soul and form it by writing stories about Guanyin and Leizu.The last part of this thesis clear up the train of thought of all thesis and supplement the meaning of working for women.This novel used many female perspective to shown the possibility of well-being in traditional family and print the imagine of women's life which shown the history and future of them.
