As an artiest who linked two important periods —— Peredvizhniki and the World of Art movement —— in Russian Painting,Serov was so different from many contemporaries.His art was an organic blend of tradition and innovation.Serov had marvelous painting techniques inherit from the Itinerants,but his painting scenes were devoid of conflict or human collisions,reflecting the beauty in the common place,seizing the poetic side of unpretentious,everyday phenomena.His pursuit of art and exploration of beauty make his pictures showing the humanistic feeling of freedom.Both of these that sets Serov's paintings apart from other Itinerants.In exploring the artistic creation of Xinjiang figure paintings with humanistic feelings,the author focus on learning Serov's thoughts and principles of drawing.Integrating and absorbing Serov's painting techniques,making the form serve the content of pictures,and choosing the suitable painting language to fit the theme.In terms of showing the subject,the author emphasis on expressing the beauty of characters' personality and commonness,weakening nationality complex,and seeking spiritual value of individuals.This paper is mainly divided into four parts: the first part is mainly aimed at the subject,study the style of Serov's paintings and compare it to the Itinerants,and analyze the humanistic feelings of Serov's paintings.The second part summarize the reason for the creation and the various themes of Xinjiang figure painting,and illustrate the reference value of Serov's painting principles for this work.The third part is the summary of creation experience inspired by Serov's thoughts of creation from two parts,his painting skills and his drawing theme.The forth part is the creation process of “sunshine from the Western Regions”,study respectively from the light,color,rhythm,brushwork,form and figure characteristics.And illustrating the thinking of creation and styles learn from Serov's paintings.
