Liang Qichao's Research On The Value Of Cultural Nationalism

Liang Qichao is a famous Enlightenment thinker in modern Chinese history and culture master. His thought is profound, complex and changeable, that can be said to be a microcosm of the history of Chinese thought in the1890-1930decade.Liang Qichao's thought has been a focus of China's Modern Thought. As an integral part of the nationalist ideology, it's also a subject of concern academic.However, so far, the academic study of Liang Qichao's nationalist ideology focused on his nation-state ideology. Liang Qichao's cultural nationalist ideology is relatively weak, specifically the studied for its value system has not yet appeared in the academic community. The paper will attempt comprehensively reviewed and re fined the theory of value content, and analysis of the inevitable difficulties and contradictions in the theoretical system, on the basis of anglicizing the background of Liang Qichao's cultural nationalism.This paper consists of four parts. The first part of this paper will describe the background of Liang Qichao's cultural nationalism thought. First, we will make a explanation of two controversial concept—"nationalism" and "cultural nationalism", and then divide "Liang Qichao's cultural nationalism was born in the double crisis of modern ethnic and cultural" into three aspects. The second part, comprehensively reviewed the process of the development of Liang Qichao's cultural nationalism thought. The third part of the system will analyze the value content of Liang Qichao's cultural nationalism thought, what including "unique value of the national culture it demonstrates","strengthen the functions of the national cultural identity","establish the modern transformation of national culture", and "self-criticism and transformation of the national culture". This section is the focus and difficulty of this paper. The last part will mainly think about the modern inspiration of Liang Qichao's cultural nationalist ideology.
