The Problems And Countermeasures Of The Development Of Social Organizations In Jianye District Of Nanjing City

With the development of the society, the demand for NGOs is increasing. With the support from the government, the NGOs are developing at a fast speed.This dissertation focuses on the study of the existing problems of NGOs and the countermeasures on the basis of the growth and development of NGOs in Jianye District of Nanjing. The government of Jianye District supports and promotes the development of NGOs in its district and provides better social services to the inhabitants in the district by optimizing the environment for NGOs, perfecting the supervision and management mode, formulating the supporting policy system, expanding the field of NGOs promoting the service level of NGOs. But the development NGOs is facing difficulty in the development process. With the analysis of the tables and charts, the existing problems of NGOs are analysized from three perspectives:problems within NGOs, external environment and government's cultivation mechanism. In terms of problems within NGOs, the development of NGOs lag behind the social demand, the service level is low and the internal system construction is defective. In terms of external environment, the NGOs are directed by the government, the social recognition of NGOs is low and the NGOs are driven by profits. In terms of government's cultivation mechanism, the problem lies in the lack of supervision system and financial support, and the intervention of the government. This dissertation, on the basis of the existing problems of NGOs in Jianye District and the experience of NGOs in other countries and areas, suggest that we should form new relation between NGOs and government, perfect government supervision and self-discipline of NGOs, give better government support and improve their own capabilities. With these suggestions, it is hoped that the development of NGOs would be improved.
