The traffic in impoverished and mountainous rural area is inconvenience, the agricultural income is the main source of the whole family, in the barren land, the whole family will fall into a state of poverty; contemporary, many younger labor of rural areas force to cities to earn a living, impoverished and mountainous areas in the countryside contain most elderly and infirm, they become "hollow villages", the old man lost the human security in the endowment, with the process of urbanization, the proportion of middle-aged and elderly people in poor mountainous areas will be increased year by year, the aging problem will become more and more serious.Impoverished and mountainous areas exists following problems in their endowment:family "empty nest", it is difficult to get support by children; the workforce is aging, it is difficult to get support from land; deficiency of collective economy, it is difficult to rely on the collective pension; social old-age security level is low, it is difficult to rely on national pension; the old people of poor mountainous areas are faced with a difficult situation in economic support, daily care and spiritual comfort aspects.Under this background, how to care for the elderly in rural areas, especially in poor mountainous areas, is the problem that this paper focuses on. Put forward positive suggestions based on supporting status of Shanxi Province, in X village as samples to carry on the investigation and study, using the family support theory, theory of social risk, equalization of public service theory and the theory of hierarchy of needs, by way of field visits, understand and analysis X village endowment situation, find out the difficulties of providing for the aged, combine the local natural environment, economic conditions and the state of precise Pro poor policies.
