New Media Research On The Mechanism Of Participatory Democracy

With the development of modern democratic politics,participatory democracy has gained more and more recognition.From individual citizens to diverse social groups,they have begun to take an active part in political life.Participatory democracy's stable and orderly development is an important way for people to exercise their democratic rights and participate in government decision-making at the present stage,and is an important component of promoting the healthy development of Chinese-style democracy.In recent years,along with the development of new media like Internet media,its role in participatory democracy has become increasingly apparent,and it has increasingly become the norm for the public to express their demands and make suggestions through the new media.This paper begins with the meaning of participatory democracy,then discusses the role of new media in participatory democracy.Through the analysis of the domestic and overseas phenomenon and case study of participatory democracy,it is suggested that the new media plays a role in the participation democracy as the mass media.Therefore,we should pay more attention to the role of new media in participatory democracy,and also face the problems.In today's society,there are still more problems in the new media playing a role in participatory democracy,such as the norms of the program,the political ability of public participating in media programs,these all need to improve.On this basis of this,we should explore ways and means to promote the better development of participatory democracy in the new media environment.
