Abe's Government's Study Of Kazakhstan's Economic Diplomacy

Japan is one of the countries where economic diplomacy was early carried out and achieved a resounding success.In Japan,economic diplomacy were of great importance to its post-war economic boom.In essence,economic diplomacy serves the interests of the state,which means the implement path and emphasis of the economic diplomacy will change with the different definitions that the word “national interests” was given to by the states in different historical periods.Southeast Asia was once a key area of Japan's economic diplomacy,but after WWII its position was replaced by the Central Asian when Japan adjusted its strategy on the basis of the international vicissitudes,geopolitical game and its own development needs.Since then,Japan has participated in the construction of the Central Asian order.As the "bellwether" of Central Asia,Kazakhstan boasts a high geo-strategic value,and thus became the focus of Japanese economic diplomacy in this region.With Abe once again been elected as the Prime Minister,Japan further strengthened its economic relations with Kazakhstan.On the one hand,it cemented and elevated the bilateral relations through the existing mechanisms.On the other hand,it paid attention to the purposeful and focused development of their economic ties in particular,by increasing economic institutions and changing its assistance direction.By launching the policies like "dollar diplomacy",“promoting the political cooperation through developing economic relations at first” and “ simultaneously improving both people-to-people and official relations”,Abe's government has achieved its objectives.This dissertation tries to review the achievements that Abe's government has made in Japan's economic diplomacy with Kazakhstan since 2012,and explore the causes,mechanisms and implementation method of Japanese economic diplomacy.After having summarizing and analyzing the new features and practical results of Abe's economic diplomacy,this dissertation gives its outlook to Japan's economic diplomacy with Kazakhstan and puts forward some useful enlightenment to Chinese economic diplomacy.
