In 2001, The Basic Education Course Reform Outline(try out) carried out by the Ministry of Education pointed out that the teachers should interact actively with the students, develop with students. It also demanded that teachers should not only instill knowledge to students but also cultivate their abilities. This shows that classroom interaction between teachers and students is of great importance. At present, some junior English teachers have come to recognize the theory of the teacher-student interaction in the process of teaching, however, there are some differences about the understanding of interaction between the experienced teacher and the novice teacher resulting in the their different treatment in class. These differences have been further explored in the thesis. The researcher, basing on the theory of Interaction Hypothesis, Input Hypothesis and Output Hypothesis, compared and analyzed the interaction of experienced and novice teacher in the practical teaching by way of classroom observation, interview and questionnaire survey. And the researcher mainly studied the following aspects: the influenced factors in classroom teacher-student interaction; differences between the two kinds of teachers; the reasons causing the differences; the influences on the students' studies; measures to promote the teacher-student interaction.Taking the practical situation in school education and class teaching into account, the researcher mainly studied the teacher related factors and student related factors. Through class observation and interview with teachers and students respectively, the researcher found that the experienced teachers differed from novice teachers in the following aspects of students' participation, the teacher and the students' talking amounts and the teacher's questioning:students involved more actively in the class of experienced teachers than the novice teachers;experienced teachers tended to give more time to let students voice their opinions, while novice teachers took up more time and gave students less time to discuss; mainly objecting to cultivating students' abilities, the experienced teachers designed more questions, waited for longer time for students to respond and adopted more forms of questions than the novice teachers. Moreover, the researcher has also analyzed the reasons why there are some differences and the different influence for the students, and on the basis of which, the researcher put forward some strategies to promoting the classroom teacher-student interaction.
