After-school physical training in middle and primary school is a perfect combination of school physical education and competitive sports, which popularizes and promotes physical exercises in schools, enhances physical fitness in students, cultivates their consciousness of lifelong sport, and utilizes education resource superiorities of schools to make them receive favorable cultural education.The research is aimed at discovering existing problems concerning the cultivation of students with tennis specialty and presenting related strategies and recommendations on development by researching the project for students with tennis specialty in Nanshan Middle School. The paper tries to improve training modes for back-up tennis talents in China, showing practical guiding significance and reference functions for the sustainability of tennis in China.The methods of literature research, questionnaire, interview, filed investigation, case analysis and others are used in this paper. The following conclusions are concluded by analyzing the training patterns.(1) Training durations are short in students; their dominant motive for training is to enter high-level representative teams in universities; school courts meet the demand of students; most students are satisfied with coaching levels and training effects; the amount of contests participated by students is low; the performances of cultural courses distribute in the middle level; most students show difficulties in taking account of both cultural courses and trainings and the pattern of having classes with other students without physical faculty is adopted.(2) The age structure of coaches is youngness-inclined; the structure of educational background is basically reasonable; the level of professional experience is on the low side; formulations of sports load majorly depend on different stages of students and their training targets; his amount of training participation is relatively small.(3) The idea of establishing a project for students with a specialty in Nanshan Middle School is to make tennis restore the essential functions of education. A mature and stable development pattern of “primary school-junior middle school-senior middle school” has been formed in Nanshan Middle School. Second-grade team members of Sichuan Province have entered the Bilingual School of Nanshan Middle School for trainings and cultural course learning. The cardinal number of tennis participation in this school reaches above 1000 people, which enlarges the scope of talent selection for the province team. The school has enlisted tennis into physical elective courses and provides multiple outlets for students. The Nanshan Pattern shows certain influences nationwide and should be popularized on the basis of comprehensive considerations.For above conditions and problems, recommendations for improvements and upgrade are presented in the paper, including enhancing education on motive of participating in physical trainings in students, teachers of cultural courses helping students find learning methods suitable for them and motivating their learning interest, further improving overall qualities of coaches and providing more opportunities of advanced education and training for coaches, relevant department organizing more competition for primary and secondary school students, and the nation guiding healthy and sustainable development of the project with policies.
