Materials are the important carrier of the kindergarten regional activities. Material problems in the music area are the main factors that lead to activities going hardly and no promoting in children's experience.The goal of this study is to investigate the current situation of the materials in music area activities,and analyze the reasons that lead to the problems of the materials so that we can further optimize the strategies of the materials that are provided in the music regional activities by making some recommendations accordingly. Based on the principles of convenience sampling,this research analyzed the datum that researcher got from the kindergartens of N city by means of observation,interviews and object analysis,with music areas activities of five classes from three kindergartens as the object of the research.This study analyzed the current station of the activity materials by analyzing the materials that are provided by the teachers and how children manipulating the materials in the music area.The characteristics of materials that are provided into the music area include:variety in category, though the majority of them are props and costumes; extensiveness in source, though most of them are homemade; materials providing is mainly controlled by teachers in distribution; materials providing is obviously discriminate and sensitive to the children's ages; teachers are prone to make micro adjustments when materials need upgrades.The characteristics of how children playing with the materials in music areas include:children tend to use an object for different ends:children tend to replace an object for another one with similar materials;there are three stages --reenactment,upgrading and innovation when children play with the materials;the applying of materials differentiates from situation to situation; children have various degrees of autonomy on how to apply the materials under different rules.Through the analysis of the actuality of activity materials, it was found that the main problems of activity materials in the music area mainly include:materials are beyond the children's experience, materials are lack of the attraction to children, there is no updating or adjusting the materials according to actual circumstances timely, and some materials are inconvenient for children to manipulate.This study tried to explore the reasons of material problems in the music area from a number of perspectives. It was found that the main factors that led to the material problems were the deficiency of music area activities on theory and practice,incompleteness of hardware and software in kindergartens, and the lack of consciousness of education and professional abilities of teachers.The researcher tries to offer some recommendations that may solve the problems of materials in the music area, which including that administrative department should pay attention to the music area activity properly, kindergartens should support music area activity appropriately, teachers should provide materials scientifically,and parents should actively assist teachers with materials.
