After the abolition of imperial examination in the late qing dynasty, the traditional intellectuals by taking the road to the rise of the imperial examinations a few disappeared, both knowledge structure and ideas at this time they are in urgent need of transformation.School of qing dynasty up to speed up the process of transformation of the traditional intellectuals, but because is still in the qing dynasty, under the feudal rule of transformation is not complete. After the establishment of the republic of China, the ministry of education in the country set up six national higher normal schools, the national institute of nanjing higher normal school is the outstanding representative of the system of higher normal education has made a lot of traditional intellectuals into modern intellectuals.In this paper in order to set up in the early days of the national institute of nanjing higher normal, for example, on the one hand, introduce the traditional intellectuals under the south normal inoculation and cultivation into new special reasons and conditions of the intellectuals, the intellectual community and in the new main and reserve of the teachers and students as the key point, south of college teachers and students in the school situation in detail.In the may fourth movement broke out, on the other hand, south and north college teachers and students took an active part in the intellectual community perspective to illustrate the new already in normal colleges and universities, especially in the south, north college play an important role in fact, and the south normal training and the effectiveness of the new intellectuals.The full text is divided into five parts, the first chapter mainly introduces the background of south college founded, preparation process and the new teaching concept;The second chapter mainly introduces the south and the hire of college faculty and staff group sources, composition form, native state such as distribution, salaries and living standards;The third chapter mainly introduces the south the enrollment of college students and to enter oneself for an examination management situation, structure characteristics, students'life and the change of school ethos, the graduation and employment status of students;The fourth chapter mainly introduces the new intellectuals in south and north normal causes and measures of breeding, and the performance of the teachers and students took an active part in the May 4th patriotic movement;The fifth chapter mainly introduces to the transformation of south college to promote intellectual respect for objective evaluation, on the one hand, fully affirmed the south normal universities play a positive role in breeding new intellectuals, on the other hand, the southern college to cultivate new intellectuals are pointed out.Conclusion part, in order to suggest that normal universities in cultivating new intellectual education concept and teaching method of the current talent cultivation of normal education still has a profound significance.
