Cultivating creative talents is the need of The Times, and it's also the great demand of our country. Through specialized activities to cultivate children's creativity is one of the important ways to cultivate creative talents. The development of information age makes people aware of the important role of computer in every field. Especially in education, it can enhance many teaching methods. So people become increasingly concerned about how to use computer to cultivate creativity.The purpose of this paper is to propose a training program—"Learn To Think" for cultivate creative thinking and creative personality based on computer programming. With the goal of promoting creative thinking skill and creative personality tendency through this proposed training program, we investigated its effects. We select 92 primary school students which in grade 4 randomly, and set them randomly into two treatment groups and one control group. We apply the "Learn To Think"(LTT) program to treatment group A in the traditional classroom and "LTT" program based on computer to treatment group B in the computer classroom. We used Test of Torrance Creative Thinking-figure (TTCT-figure) to measure creative thinking, and Creativity Assessment Packet to measure their creative personality. ANCOVA statistical procedures were used to analyze the pre- and post- Test of TTCT and Creativity Assessment Packt and it also be used to exam the difference between the 3 groups.At the same time, we explored the relationship between creative thinking and cognitive style. We also explored the role of cognitive style during creativity training.The findings of our study are as follows:(1) The "LTT" creativity training program which based on computer has an significant effects on children's creative thinking promoting;(2)And it can promote the children's curiosity and imagination; (3)The cognitive style played an moderate role in the training of creative thinking:For the field-dependents the LTT program which based on computer have the more significant effect on promoting their fluency and originality; for the field-independents, they have the similarity culture efficiency.Finally, We suggest that this computer training program "LTT" could be a new way for creativity cultivating for children all over the country.
