The reading teaching is the core in Chinese teaching.But in traditional primary schools,texts and reading passages are always.s taught separately and individually in class,which eventually fails to form the link between each unit,thus it is not conducive to the Chinese teaching.And the reading teaching in Primary School aims to enable students to learn how to read as well as to show great interest in reading.With the reform of Chinese teaching,together with the updating and revising of the textbooks,the reading texts,of high quality in content and structure,serve as the main part for learning.However,they hardly meet the students’ desire to learn.At the same time,they don’t meet the Standard of Chinese Standards for compulsory Education(2011 Edition),either.The standard requires students to grasp at least an amount of 1.45 million words reading in 6 yearsThe topic of the essay is The Study of Chinese Teaching in Primary School,and it takes the reading passages in PEP Edition as examples.This essay,starting from the text,is to improve students’ ability in reading and to cultivate their proper attitude towards Chinese Reading.High-grade pupils-pupils in Grade 5 and Grade 6,who have spent four years learning in Primary School,are good choose for this essay,as they do have ability in reading to some extent.This essay includes 5 chapters.Chapter One is Introduction,Chapter Two is the Summary of Theme Reading;Chapter Three is problems and analysis in Practical teaching;Chapter Four is the strategies based on Theme Reading;and Chapter Five is Teaching Practice.
