Preschool education is the most important enlightening education,which serves as the foundation of basic education,having an essential influence on the whole process of education.Preschool teacher's professional quality is viewed as one of the key factors elevating the quality of preschool education.The promulgation and implantation of State Planning Outline for Medium and Long-Term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020)popularized and improved the preschool education.A high quality team of preschool teachers should be described as a group with morality,professional skill,reasonable structure,and the like.How to promote the professional quality levels of preschool teachers to make it sustainable resources arouse a widespread concern.In the context of enforcement of The Professional Standards for Kindergarten Teachers(Trial)(Standard(Trial)for short),the present study explored the current characteristics of preschool teachers' professional qualities,found out some problems and proposed some useful and constructive strategies,so as to understand Standard(Trial)thoroughly and comprehensively and furthermore,to enhance the development of preschool teacher's professionalism and promote the quality of preschool education finally.Building on domestic and international research,the current study investigated the current situation of preschool teachers' professional quality and its relevant factors as well as put forward some proposals concerning the development of preschool teachers' professional quality by documents-analyses,questionnaire survey and interview on a sample of 290 preschool teachers from Jinan,Qingdao,Weifang,Linyi,Heze,Jining,Dongying,Zibo and other regions within Shandong Province.The questionnaire used in this study is based on the Standard(Trial)which includes 3 dimensions,14 fields and 62 items totally.This study consists of introduction and other four sections.The main content in each part of this paper was as follows.Introduction.Reasons and significance of choosing this subject were explained from the perspective of preschool education practice and existing theoretical literature.In addition,the research objectives,content,method and specific measure were also introduced in this part.Section 1.In this part the structure of preschool teacher's professional quality was specified from three aspects including professional concept and morality,professional knowledge and professional competence on the basis of the clear definition of preschool teacher and their professional quality,and revealed the significance of improving the professional quality of kindergarten teachers.Section 2.Here the current situation and problems of preschool teachers' professional qualities were analyzed and elaborated as follows,(1)the whole development level of professional quality wasn't very good in general,(2)three dimensions of professional quality varied in the developmental level,(3)the developmental level of professional concept and morality needs to improve,(4)teacher's professional knowledge differentiated significantly,and(5)the development of preschool teachers' professional competence was insufficient.Section 3.Factors related to professional quality were discussed according to the current situation mentioned in Section 2 from the aspects of teacher's education experience,entry assessment,professional training,social security and support,and individual factors of teachers.Section 4,Strategies for improving preschool teacher's professional quality were expounded here as follows,(1)to perfect the training program including optimizing curriculum structure and strengthening education practice,(2)to be strict in the entry assessment including building strict qualification access system and entry selection test,(3)to reinforce professional training on job,such as paying close attention to the professional development of preschool teachers,optimizing allocation of resource,increasing the chance for education training and applying developmental education evaluation mechanism,(4)to complete an ensuring mechanism which included increasing teacher's wage and perfecting the professional title system,and(5)to encourage teachers to develop independently and autonomously.It was suggested that teachers should have positive ideas and attitude for development,specific developmental goal,and promote the ability of self-reflection and self-learning...
