In contemporary China, there are lots of problems in the economic and social fields, from the point of economy, the speed of economic development of our country becoming more and more slowly. From the angle of social areas, social problems emerge in an endless stream, some of the problems are already fairly grim. In recent years, All party members and social at large have reached a consensus on strengthening social development and promoting cultural and ideological progress. In the process of social construction, one of the most fundamental aspects of the social construction is to carry out policy support and financial aid. Children with intellectual disabilities as the most important one of the disadvantaged groups of society are naturally attracted more and more attentions than before.First, at the national level, the relevant government agencies and departments have issued a series of laws, regulations and public policy to solve the problems that the mentally disabled children and their families who faced with, for example, the local government which have favourable economic conditions have been required to establish social security institutions for the mental disabled children to resolve the difficulty to go to school by the central government. Besides, the local government also be asked to train the professional talents and strengthen its supports to institutions which served for children with intellectual disabilities as well as develop one to one help which not only covers policy support but also covers economic aid. Second, from the social perspective, an increasing number of social environment of public opinions has already paid to the mental retarded children, at the same time, it is playing an increasingly important role in overcoming the difficulty. The mental retarded children and its family has received extensive concern, the most prominent representation is regional social service organizations and regional social security institutions are developing rapidly. On the one hand, the emergence of these institutions can make up the shortage of government and public service in protection of children who are mentally disabled. On the other hand, social frameworks can pay close attention to mental retarded children from different facts, but beyond that, they can also distributing social resources from so many areas to satisfy the mental retarded children’s requirement of development. Finally, from a personal perspective, an increasing number of celebrities, such as people who have special status, movie star, entrepreneurs who are enthusiastic in promoting public welfare arouse the masses through social media to give attentions to mental retarded children. Because of their celebrity and special status, their remarks about helping mental disabled children have got a warmed response, at the same time, some of them established social constructions, charitable organizations, even special fund to help and support the mental retarded children and their families.Socialization and individual development of children is a life stage that every children must go through, it is especially true for mental disabled children. The Individual goes through developing life skills, acquiring social values and social culture, in the process of socialization, eventually turned into a qualified social members. Realizing the socialization is not only a goal of mentally disabled children and parents, but also the ultimate goal of rehabilitation education and mentally disabled. But now mentally retarded children’s social situation is not ideal, even faced with difficulties. This paper takes xi ’an Y agency service project as an example and applies the literature research method combined with field research methods to understand the mentally retarded children’s socialization. We involved in the problems of the mentally retarded children’s socialization on the basis of using the integrated social work methods, and finally, assessing the effectiveness of the intervention and making a summary.The studies is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is the introduction which expound the reason why select this topic and the significance to select this topic, in addition, the articles reviewed the researches at home and abroad about the mentally disabled children and children’s socialization, and then, it introduced this topic research methods; The second chapter that mainly introduced related theory and the core concept about this research. Third chapter descripted the requirements of children’s socialization from mentally retarded children, parents, and professional social workers respectively and makes preparations for following studies.The fourth chapter descripted the integrated type involved in the process of social work method and effect based on the four contents of socialization. The fifth chapter is the summary and inflection of the full text.
