History Education in high school stage influences the conception of history and world view. History textbooks as a major carrier play a very important role in history education. We should pay sufficient attention to the value and role of history textbooks. Since educational concepts and compilation idea for the teaching materials directly impact on the final presentation. And Sino-British cultural traditions, ideas, history and other aspects is different, so the concept of education and the preparation of teaching materials also exist significant differences. This will inevitably lead to differences in the presentation on the specific content.When selecting the content, I focus on the two world wars of the 20th century. First of all, the two world wars is a very important international event, they directly affect the international situation and international relations that changes complexly. Secondly, China and Britain with the victors of the two world wars, they have participated in his capacity as the victors of the war before and after treatment in international affairs. Meanwhile, the wars play an important part of the national memory, which is presented in the form of words in history textbooks. Therefore, the Chinese and British textbook on "the two world wars," has great significance and value comparison.This paper focuses on the "two world wars" and chooses the Beijing Normal University Edition junior high school history textbook and British GCSE-History Edition junior high school history textbook for the study. I aim at finding differences between China and Britain two kinds of materials by comparing key factors,as well as their advantages and disadvantages, and to analyze the reasons for this difference. Finally, based on the merit of Britain history textbook make some suggestions for improvement, in order to improve and develop our country's history Textbooks.This thesis contains the following three parts:The first part:The Sino-British history textbook on the world war is different. By comparing three specific aspects from that content presentation?exercises designed historical data to find that their own characteristics and differences, and understand the respective strengths and improvements.The second part:Analyzing the reason that Sino-British history textbook about the two world wars is different. Due to the difference of course of history, curriculum standards and "War View" aspects, resulting in different content.The third part:Sino-British history textbook on the enlightenment of teaching materials. By comparing and analyzing the materials, we should learn the historical perspective of English textbooks, it not only pay attention to the students' humane care, but also pay attention to the cultivation of students' multicultural values. Meanwhile, in the exercise design, we should be based on "Enhancing the historical thinking skills" as a guide to develop students' critical thinking, reading information, analysis and presentation of history.The conclusion part summarizes the differences of teaching materials, and the reasons and reference place for Chinese Textbook.
