Analysis Of Li Steaming's Educational Thoughts

Li Zheng (1895 to 1975) is an influential educator and principal during the middle and later period of the Republic of China, He extensively studied public and normal education. This paper focuses on analyzing Li Zheng's educational concepts by refining his ideological essence, We provide theoretical reference for contemporary social education and the development of colleges and universities.The paper focuses on analyzing Li Zheng's educational concepts by using literature and comparative research methods,lt consists of five parts. The introduction reviews related research and demonstrates the meaning of doing research on Li Zheng's educational concepts. The first chapter introduces Li Zheng's lifetime and his contribution on public and normal education in chronological order. We analyze deeply the background of Li Zheng's education concepts in aspects to social condition, ideology, and personal education. The second chapter discusses Li Zheng's public education of the origin of his education concepts, his understanding of the theory and practice, his characteristics and effects of public education. The third chapter discourses Li Zheng's theory of running school from the aspect of normal education, social service concepts, and national consciousness. The fourth chapter summarize the characteristics of Li Zheng's education concepts, its limitation and effects.Li Zheng had deeply researched on public education theory and practice, which effectively guide public education during the middle and later period of the Republic of China. His concept of national and life-long education still enlightens contemporary education. Li Zheng have offered advice and suggestions for normal education, helped develop it by giving impetus to the development of Beijing Normal University and Northwest Normal University.
