In recent years,in order to enhance the overall national strength and international competitiveness,great focus has been put on the education,especially the science education reform which has entered a period of rapid development.The researchers have launched a new standard of science education.In the process of the reform,the thought of STEM was born,introduced all over the world.Similarly,in the twentyfirst Century,China is in the era of rapid development of economy and science and technology.Science education has to keep up with the development of the times,which requires the guidance of STEM thought.The development of STEM course in China is still in its infancy,many schools have begun to try to incorporate the STEM course into the teaching practice,which provides rich soil for the localization of STEM education.This study,which STEM thought for the lead,and Project Learning as the carrier,uses Action Research Methods,to carry out the design of prostheses a project attached to Shanghai Nanyang Model junior middle school STEM courses,analyzing the essence,STEM course development process,and STEM course content as well as studying the learning mode of junior middle school students on STEM,and the way to cultivate their comprehensive qualities.The key lies in the practice of school-based curriculum implementation of STEM,which serves to the theoretical proof to the implement of the STEM course.From the aspects of the curriculum objectives,teaching material construction,teaching design,teaching practice evaluation and other ways of practice.Based on the reflection and analysis of project-based learning STEM course,the results show that:1.Form the process of STEM courses based on the Project Learning.According to the flow chart,can help teachers better grasp and analysis of the project,so that the courses carried out smoothly.2.Based on the Project Learning STEM courses,students’ abilities can be developed overall.In order to solve complex problems,students can use the knowledge of various disciplines to solve problems in the process of project learning..3.Based on the project learning STEM courses,the technical skills of operationand engineering design education can be strengthened.Students can carry out a simple engineering design,except for the fear that the details of the design still need to be strengthened.4.Evaluation methods should be more diversified,for the project learning STEM curriculum.It is helpful for the students to test their learning process by introducing the appropriate evaluation tables.5.Based on the STEM project learning,students can develop their critical thinking.In the process of learning,students will learn to find out the advantages and disadvantages of things,so as to solve the problem effectively and improve their comprehensive ability.The implementation of this study provides ideas for the practice of STEM curriculum in the future.However,in the process of project implementation,due to the limitations of time and class hours,the diversity of the STEM teaching model still needs to be further explored.
