Various kinds of learning activities mentioned in Shanghai Junior Middle School Science Teaching Materials(Trial Edition),published by Shanghai Educational Publishing House,which was edited by Zhuang Qili and Shen Rongxiang,are mainly presented in the form of “Experience and Activities” Column.However,the compilation of the “Experience and Activities” Colum in the teaching material is very concise and generalized,and besides,the activity operational orientation is not so clear.Moreover,the design steps of the activities are not scientific enough.As a result,above deficiencies lead to great difficulties in the actual implementation of the activities.In this case,this subject tried to carry out sample surveys on the implementation situations of “Experience and Activities” Colum in Junior Middle Science(Shanghai Educational Edition)Teaching Material in science classes of each school in Huangpu District,with a view to learn about problems existing in science teaching and specific reasons leading to the problems.Then the implementation situations of 361 “Experience and Activities” Columns in four volumes of Science Teaching Material were organized,based on which,36 of the “Experience and Activities” Columns were optimized.Following the principles that the presentation form of student activities should conform to students' age characteristics and cognitive rules,that experiment contents should be compiled according to the principles of going from the shallower to the deeper,from easy to difficult and from simple to complicated,that the design of experiment steps should embody the scientific idea of “green and environmental”,and that student activities in natural science teaching materials should help students establish the awareness of protecting environment,this research aimed to improve the column's targeted property,scientific nature,rationality and effectiveness,so that the presentation mode of its contents will be more rational.Besides,guidance of operability of the activities should be enhanced,for the sake of teachers' teaching practice,thus providing more effective teaching reference to classroom teaching and more reasonable learning material to students.After two rounds of teaching practices,it is proved that the 36 optimized “Experience and Activities” Columns achieved favorable effects in teachers' teaching process and students' learning process,which was widely recognized by front-line teachers and students.
