Language and culture are interdependent,thus they are inseparable,language teaching and culture teaching are also in a complementary relationship.To fully understand a type of culture,it is necessary to master the language;but also to fully grasp a language,it is necessary to learn the culture which supports thelanguage itself.The teaching of Chinese culture as an important part 'of the international Chinese teaching is becoming a hot topic on discussion fields and researches.Based on Myanmar Kengtung Longlun school as the breakthrough point of the study area,through in-depth interviews and classroom observation,case analysis and comprehensive interdisciplinary research methods,such as Chinese culture teaching condition of Aaron Dragon School,intensive and meticulous investigations were made.On the basis of a comprehensive analysis and reflections we offer concrete suggestions,hoping to provide certain reference for teaching Chinese culture in Myanmar,contributing to promoting the development of the Chinese culture teaching.This paper has six parts?The first chapter is an introduction,presenting the origin of the research and its meaning,the contents and the methods used for this research and finally presents researches related to our topic that have been made.Chapter two presents a summary on Chinese teaching in Kengtung area,from Myanmar,including a short introduction of Kengtung area and the history of development of six Chinese schools in the region,mentioning the current situation and the characteristics of Chinese language teaching.The third chapter uses a case analysis to show that there is a necessity and an urgency to strengthen the Chinese culture teaching in Myanmar through five authentic cases based on ritual culture,food and beverage culture,taboo culture and new words used on the Internet era and so on to analyze the similarities and differences in culture.It is pointed out that there is still a certain degree of disjoint between Chinese teaching and practical intercultural communication in Myanmar.It is necessary to pay attention and strengthen the teaching of Chinese culture in Myanmar as soon as possible.The fourth chapter investigates and analyzes the teaching situation of Chinese culture in Kengtung area and takes the Longlun school as the breakthrough point,and makes an in-depth investigation and analyzes the curriculum,the teaching materials,the teachers,the learners,the classroom teaching and related cultural activities.The fifth chapter reflects and makes suggestions on Chinese culture teaching in Longlun school in Kengtung area.On the basis of the investigation and analysis of the above six aspects,it is necessary to further reflect and discover the existing problems and put forward five suggestions,that is to increase the quality of the cultural class,to pay close attention when prepare teaching textbooks to combine language teaching and cultural teaching for students from Myanmar,to train teachers' abilities when teaching Chinese culture,try to use very flexible and diverse cultural teaching methods,and strive to create conditions for rich and varied extracurricular activities.Chapter six summarizes and provides information about the next step that is required for further researches.It summarizes the main contents of the paper.First,it is necessary to continue to accumulate experience in Chinese culture teaching,but when practicing it then it is necessary to keep studying how to improve Chinese culture teaching in Myanmar.Second,it is important to strive to write a set of Chinese textbooks suitable for Myanmar students,in which to combine practical experience and specific national conditions and to combine language with culture.Third,open up horizons by combining teaching needs with practical circumstances,and strive to develop more interesting Chinese cultural activities.
