Holography means that there is same information between subsystems and between subsystems and the system.Holographic theory believes that all systems in this universe are holographic systems and follow the holographic laws.As a special practice in human society,teaching activity is a complicate system comprised of various elements.Typical holographic characteristics lie in such following aspects as making teaching objectives,choosing and organizing teaching contents,devising teaching activities and conducting teaching evaluation.English in elementary schools is an important subject with both instrumentality and humanity.It is stipulated,in the reform of basic education curriculum around 2000,that English is a compulsory foreign language for grade-three students in elementary schools.Based on English classes in elementary schools,this research is committed to find and analyze problems in English classes from the holographic perspective and to find the corresponding reasons for these problems from the teachers,who are the main element in teaching and the subject to carry out teaching.Meanwhile,this study also gives some methods and suggestions on creating holographic classes for English teaching in elementary schools so that English teachers can have better guidance in both theory and practice.Based on teasing out and summarizing the literature on holographic theories and holographic class teaching,the author has also thoroughly observed English teaching in elementary school classes.This research conducts holographic analysis from four aspects,namely course goals,course contents,course implementation and course evaluation.In addition,by focusing on the teachers----the subject in teaching,the research also presents targeted suggestions for improvement.Through observance and case analysis of English teaching in senior grades of elementary school,we found the most important factor restricting the building of holographic classes is the lack of teachers' professional quality.Therefore,the following suggestions are proposed for English teachers to improve their professional quality: establishing the concept of holographic class;improving their own capability in conducting teaching activities;improving their capability of devising teaching activities;pursuing support from school systems to conduct holographic teaching and researching activities.
