School for mentally retarded children is traditionally a special education school for children with mental retardation,but with the rapid increase in the incidence of autistic children in recent years,as well as cerebral palsy and other categories of children to raise the awareness of the right to education,the object also changed to a great extent.In order to improve the teaching efficiency and to promote the realization of training objectives,educators must take full account of the characteristics of various of education objects,especially the characteristics of the main educational objects of retarded children and autistic children,and actively exploring effective teaching strategies suitable for their physical and mental characteristics,to carry out classroom teaching.As a visual tool of knowledge representation,graphic organizer is an important means of carrying knowledge,it emphasizes the combination of image and text representation,and using lines,graphics,tables,symbols,etc.organized scattered information,knowledge,concepts and ideas into class,mesh,linear structure to present their internal logic clearly.Considering the intuitive image and the visual representation advantage of graphic organizer,these characteristics coincide with the physical and mental characteristics and educational needs of educational objects,researchers applied graphic organization strategy as a kind of instructional strategy in the classroom teaching of school for mentally retarded children.In order to explore the function and the application strategy of graphic organizer in classroom teaching of school for mentally retarded children,enrich the research on the instructional strategy of the education of school for mentally retarded children,and to promote the application of the graphic organization strategy in the school for mentally retarded children,so as to improve the teaching quality of the education of school for mentally retarded children.In this study,we use the action research method to actively explore the effective strategies of classroom teaching of school for mentally retarded children,and try to apply different kinds of graphic organization strategy to different courses such as life language,life adaptation,life mathematics and theme class meeting,etc.The researcher designed the lesson plans for the application of graphic organization strategy,use the graphic organization strategy to carry out classroom teaching,and reflect on the practical application of the strategy.In order to sum up the function of the graphic organization strategy in the classroom teaching of school for mentally retarded children and its application strategy.
