After the second revise of Shanghai education,some concepts were added about amount of substance in 9th grade chemistry.However,most students have problems learning these concepts,they usually solve problems by only memorizing the formulas without truly understanding them.And they also easily forget these concepts and formulas.In order to help the students to better understand the concept of amount of substance,this essay is based on constructivism to accomplish the lesson model.The research content of this paper is based on education model and application of constructivism of amount of substance.After reading and analyzing documents about the constructivism and “macro-micro-symbol”,this model includes four parts:(1)Break down the concept(2)Imagine situation(3)Micro & macro construction(4)Concept picture conclusion.This study focuses on practical research,which is based on a quasi-experimental.The purpose is to verify the operability and effectiveness of the models designed by the writer.The object of the study of this experiment are 9th grade students.Before doing this study,the students were tested the basic knowledge about amount of substance,so that we assure the students have enough skills to do the teaching experiment.After the teaching experiment,we know from the tests on amount of substance that students in honors classes have higher grades than the other students in normal classes.Therefore,according to the teaching model,it can help students better understand the concept of amount of substance.There is also some restriction of this research.The test questions forehead and afterwards are complied by the researchers themselves.Since the researchers are lack of experience in writing test questions as wells as lack of complete statistical research,it may affect the real situation about the students.In addition,the researchers do not have solid knowledge of the basic concepts.They do not have enough instruction about constructing the model concept,so there are stillcertain improvements on the contraction of the model and specific application.
