| During the traditional childhood study, the adult discourse system had been holding a dominant position. Children have been taken as objects of the study for a long time. It is difficult for them to express their own ideas. The transition that views on children promotes the transition of childhood study paradigm. The opinions that"Children as researchers", "children,s perspective", "children’s participation" have a high profile in the theoretical circle. However, in practice, the participation of children is not enough. Besides, the voice of children is. often ignored. Kindergarten Area Activity, as an essential ingredient of kindergarten curriculum, plays an important role for children. But in practical,the area activities have been arranged by adults in advance, children have to accommodate them. In view of the trends of research and the situation that children are lack of opportunities to participate the creation and design of kindergarten area activities, this paper tried to reveal the characteristics of area activities in the children’ eyes by listening to the opinions of them.This paper took the children’s perspective as the theoretical basis, and studied 28 children from one kindergarten in Nanjing by making use of Mosaic approach.According to the rooting theory,this paper used the Nvivo 11 qualitative analysis software to encode children’s view of area activities. The result showed that the area activities in the children’ eyes involved seven aspects. According to the frequency of children mentioned as follows : area materials, area activities experience, area environment, area space, area important figure, area rules as well as the link between the courses. In terms of whether the children liked each area activity element, this paper listed a lot of cases at the part of status description. Based on the children’s views, this paper made a suggestion that how to create and design children’s favorite area activities. In addition, this paper focused on the practical application situation of children’s perspective, and it contrasted the concerns of both teachers and children about area activities as well as the views of both teachers and children about children’s participation. Besides,this paper analyzed the reasons for practical application dilemma of children’s perspective, and put forward the targeted solutions.Emphasizing children’s perspective doesn’t means to denying the teacher’s opinion. Advocating children’s participation is aimed at making area activities become more suitable for the characteristics of children’s physical and mental development. Meanwhile, it can make class activities more democratic. |
