Globalization, the new era brings forward great challenges for education. In such a new era,we need to cultivate "global citizenship" who can adapt to the globalization. Global education is such a new type of educational theory and practice responding to the challenges of global era.Teachers spread and perform global education. Teachers are the key to the success of global education. Teachers' ideas, teaching attitude, and educational means have direct impact on the success of global education. Therefore, the research on teacher global education has very important significance.Teacher global education has been given great importance in the UK. These global education systems of students, teachers, researchers and regulators have been established in the UK. While teacher global education in our country is still in a state of marginalization. Our country can draw lessons from the advanced experience of teacher global education in the UK. This dissertation adopts methods of documentary analysis,case study and comparison analysis to research the teacher global education in the UK. This dissertation consists of four main parts:Firstly, this dissertation analyzes the background why the UK attaches great importance to the teacher global education. From the three aspects of population, economy and environment education,this dissertation explores the social background. From the educational tradition in the UK and the impact of globalization, this dissertation explains the educational background.Secondly,this dissertation presents the development of the global education policies in the UK. The focuses of the British global education policies have experienced four stages of change since 1950s. From the policies of the global education enacted by the British government, we can see the development course of global education in the UK.Thirdly, this dissertation mainly studies the pre-service and in-service teacher global education in the UK. It discusses the pre-service teacher global education from aspects of training objectives, curriculum arrangement and content, educational practice and evaluation method. It expounds the in-service teacher global education from aspects of national institutions, social organizations and institute of education.Finally, this dissertation evaluates the characteristics and problems teacher global education in the UK. It analyzes the general situation of teacher global education in our country. Then, it summarizes the enlightenment of teacher global education in the UK to our country.
