The core idea of the new biology curriculum in high school is to improve the students' overall academic literacy. Biology is an experimental subject, and the basic concepts, principles and disciplines of this subject are derived from the crystallization of scientific experiments. Therefore, the implementation of experiment teaching is the key to the realization of new curriculum concept.However, currently there exist a variety of problems in biological experiment teaching in most high schools, and especially in the more remote township high school, the experiment teaching is hardly implemented due to the limited equipment conditions, the lack of funds and professional staff, the reduced teaching hours,the old teaching concept, etc. The present paper aims to conclude the multiple problems appeared in biological experiment teaching of in township high schools,and to provide teaching advices based on the comparative analysis of the influence on students from various aspects of whether or not the implementation of biological experiment in different high schools. The results of this study will further provide reference for the better development of biological experiment teaching in township high schools, attract the attention of people on the important role in promoting the comprehensive development of students by experiment teaching,and expectedly bring more support on high school experiment teaching from authorities.Firstly, this paper investigates the current situation of the experiment teaching in eight high schools in Wuqing, Tianjin. The results showed that in majority of the township high schools, the development of biological experiment teaching has been severely inhibited due to the insufficient experiment equipment,the restrained experiment teaching resources and the limited professional competency of the relevant teachers. Taking the advantage of practical teaching in Cuihuangkou High School, the author conducted research on the impact of biological experiment teaching on students. Specifically, the real experimental operations are carried out by the students in the experimental classes, whereas the experiments are orally explained by the teachers (the conventional teaching approach) in the control classes. The results showed that the academic achievements of the students in the experimental classes who did experiments personally were significantly better than those of the students in the control classes, as there were significant differences between independent samples according to the T test(P<0.05), which clearly indicated that the experiment teaching could improve the students' academic level. In addition, the comparative detections on the academic literacy in biology of the students before and after taking experimental courses were performed, and the results showed that the students in the experimental classes scored high distinctly than those in the control classes with a P value of < 0. 05 indicating the significant difference, which revealed that there were significant effects of experiment teaching on students' academic literacy in biology.In the light of the facts that serious problems, such as limited financial support, lack of equipment, restricted experiment teaching hours in biology and the inadequate competent teachers, are commonly present in the remote township high schools in Tianjin, several important issues on biological experiment teaching are proposed by the author as follows: (1) to improve teachers'understanding of the importance of biological experiment teaching and their knowledge on the core effect of biological experiment teaching on the cultivation of students' academic quality; (2) to train the biology teachers regularly with respect to their theoretical knowledge and practical experimental skills due to the rapid development of modern biological theory and experimental methods; (3)to alter the conventional methods on biological experiment teaching and to strengthen the cultivation of students' experimental operation skills, which are important tasks in future' s teaching; and (4) to improve the current material conditions of experiment teaching in township high schools, an essential point in experiment teaching, and to pay more special attention to this situation by relevant authorities to make the biological experiment teaching in township high schools proceed in an orderly and efficient manner.
