In Eighteenth CPC National Congress Report,the Communist Party of China has pointed out that becoming a marine power.In the chapter "high school education",the Outline of Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan for the Country(2010-2020)maintained that "we should try whatever we can to open various elective courses rich in contents",providing students with more choices,and promoting students' comprehensive and personal development.Department of Education of Zhejiang Province formulated the Reform Program of Deepening the Ordinary High School Curriculum in Zhejiang province,pointing out the importance of enhancing the diversification of high schools and educating modes,providing students with a rich and characteristic curriculum system to meet different needs of students with different potentials.The Song Men senior high school in Wenling city lies in the East China Sea Coast,where the abundant marine products accelerate the development of the research on the marine elective courses.During the research,what contribute greatly to the systematic research on the development of the marine elective courses lie in not only the precious experience and distinct characteristics but also in problems from practice and theory puzzles.This thesis topic targets Songmen High School,in the city of Wenling,Zhejiang Province,and various methods are adopted,such as documental integration,the students'questionnaire,analysis of the data as well as the interview of students single,I survey the students on the current education of ocean of Common Senior High School and do some research about the recognition,understanding and expectation of the knowledge of the ocean.Students have a strong appetite for learning more about the ocean,longing for going to the ocean,but their information about the ocean is too limited.Most of them get the information from the daily life,so we teachers should improve our ability to provide more knowledge to them.In the class,students hope that they can get more chances to interact,explore and practice.According to the process of the development of the optional course,I try to study from the six aspects in my course,The Sea Products in the East Sea,which is recommended in Zhejiang Province.First,the need to the development of the course is given,from the requirements of Curriculum development,Feature creation of school and students.Second,the aims are set clear from the perspectives of students,teachers and school.Third,the principles are stated.Fourth;the process of the course is stated too.The fifth aspect is the most important part of the course,which elaborates on the implementation of the course through the instruction of four kinds of economic fishes in the East Sea as well as the practice of going into the sea product market.The sixth aspect is about the evaluation mechanism from the perspectives of teachers and students.Hope this paper may contribute more or less to the launch of the marine elective courses in coastal area high schools.
