New high school curriculum has implemented in Yinchuan for nearly five years, elective courses became a highlight in the new curriculum reform of senior middle school, elective course system provides practical protection for updating and restructuring of courses content in internal mechanism; and lays an exterior foundation for the effectively implementation of individual study. It has great significance in maximizing students'potential ability so that different students can come to the fore, and in helping students have an all-around development; Elective system, as the core of curriculum implementation and management mechanism, heightens the students'selective ability in perpetual selections, and teach students plan their life.The implementation of elective courses is the main line of this paper. Choosing a school in Yinchuan as an object of case study, researching on school administrators, teachers and students through questionnaire survey and interview method, then having a real comprehension of the current situation of elective courses implementation and exploring the problems existed in the implementation process, in order to make elective courses implementation benefit the development of students, and cultivate their innovative spirit and practical ability.There are five parts in this paper:In the first part, I clarify the origin, significance and goal of research as well as my train of thought and methods.The second part, it's about the relevant literature review: Interpreting the new high school curriculum reform strategies, exploring the theory of elective courses, implementation strategies and the institutional protection, national comparative study of elective courses, studing elective courses changes and implementation of curriculum related literature.In the third part, I introduce the school and basic situation of implementation in it.In the forth part, I analysis the current situation of elective courses implementation, have a research on school management, teachers and students by a lot of interview, observation and literature collection. Because these three dimensions, school, teachers and students are the implementator of elective courses, only through them can we interpret the elective courses implementation and know the problems of it clearly and carefully.In the fifth part, I analysis the teaching meterials, school management ,teachers and students in the process of new curriculum implementation, find out the problems existed in it, and come up with strategies which can solve these problems, to ensure that the implementation of elective courses in high school can carry our in practice.
