Constructive play is favored by children because of its wide variety of materials and multiple combinations.Children would develop their abilities such as action,intelligence,innovation and interpersonal communication through constructive play.This paper focuses on such topics as what constructive play is,why we should carry out constructive play and how to carry out constructive play.Based the theory of"zone of proximal development" and "high-scope curriculum" as well as relevant domestic and foreign practices,this study keeps an eye on the present situation of the constructive play in the kindergartens and puts forward corresponding ideas and suggestions in line with related research results.The study shows there are some problems in constructive play in the kindergartens.For instance,very few materials are used;too much guidance means too much intervention;a lack of game rules causes much noise;evaluation emphasizes on the result instead of process.Some ideas and suggestions are provided in combination of the analysis of relevant theories so as to solve these problems and optimize constructive play in the kindergarten.First,establish a child-centered education idea.Second,create a sound play environment.Third,distribute appropriate play materials.Fourth,explore a guiding principle which meets the children's physical and mental development needs.Fifth,choose an appropriate observation method.Sixth,explore a way of positive intervention.Seventh,independently determine the rule of constructive play.Eighth,optimize the evaluation of constructive play.
