STEM education is a kind of course, and is also one of a way of learning and teaching strategies, which provides an opportunity for STEM to be developed as a school-based curriculum.STEM school-based curriculum can be well combined with the characteristics of a school, and can solve problems in the real world through different subjects purposefully fusion. For elementary school,STEM curriculums are main form of school-based curriculum, which are strongly multidisciplinary integrated, operability, interesting and universality. This study used interview, classroom survey, attitude towards science questionnaire, young master engineering course questionnaire and correlation analysis to examine the stem school-based course, including teaching concept, formation process, curriculum design, students' attitude to science, students' attitude to teaching contents, teaching methods and evaluation methods, and relationship among these factors. The purpose is to provide reference for the further development. Results showed:(1)Through interview of the principal and three science teachers, the study found that:the development course of STEM school-based curriculum in elementary school was gradual process such as "introduced, improvement and extension",which was also a gradual process of top-down team cooperation.(2)Through the primary 4 L series lesson "mechanical mouse" classroom observation, the study found that the "mechanical mouse" merged the concepts of STEM,and STEM course was good for school-based curriculum in the elementary school.(3)Through the implementation of curriculum effect questionnaire survey the study found that students in all grades liked STEM courses, and the third grade took part in the course best.(4)Through the influence factors questionnaire the study found that scientific attitude, teaching methods, evaluation methods generally positively correlated course content like degree and curriculum participation;sex of third grade reflected propagation effects, for fourth grade math scores were positively correlated with the degree of some of the curriculum they like,English achievement were positively correlated with emotional action to participate and happy, for fifth grade English language achievement were negative correlated with course content like.Scientific attitude in five grades overall declined.Three grades of students were most like that the teacher and students design course together. There were some problems in L primary school in the implementation of curriculum development, such as:the concept of designer and implementer were different; Not let the students involved in the curriculum design;Did not call attention to the various branches knowledge fusion, teaching methods need to be improved, and the evaluation method was still to be developed.etc.solving measures were to increase exchanges between the principal and the teachers, for teachers to provide curriculum design training,to let the headmaster participate in the implementation of the specific course,to let the students take part in curriculum design;to strengthen mathematical modeling, optimization principle of science research and engineering technology in engineering design;to adopt and development teaching methods and evaluation methods which students liked, etc.
