Theme-based activity area of the kindergarten is an important area,which is on the background of themes,in the active form of area,according to aims of themes,teachers creates activity areas related with themes on purpose in order to make children do individual autonomic learning activities according to their desires and capacity in the main way of operation.The constructivism overturns the traditional theory of curriculum,and uncovers features of constructivism learning environment,and emphasizes the effect on individual learning from learning environment,as well as the change of the relation between teachers and students etc.to provide basis to help us set up constructivism learning environment.What the research wants to do is to survey the theme-based activity areas,and find current situation and problems of creating theme-based activity areas and solve these problems in the perspective of constuctivism to explore the strategies of creating theme-based activities areas.The research includes two stages.The first stage lasted 1 year,which adopted the method of purposive sampling to take classes of 3 different ages of X kindergarten to observe the creation and activities in the activity areas.At the same time,the research made interviews with 3 teachers and some parents and children in each class to investigate the actual situation of creating theme-based activity areas,and realize the current attitude and awareness of teachers,as well as the methods,effect,problems,obstacles of creating theme-based activity areas.It found that there are four problems,including teachers centered without subjectivity of children,irrational materials without constructivism learning,invalid interaction,prevalence of formalism.The second stage guided by the theory of constructivism centers on the found problems from the first stage to start a new round of curriculum construction personally in order to solve these problems.From 1 and a half years of study,the research came up with strategies of creation of Theme-based activities areas of the kindergarten from the technical operation level,including strategies of creation of theme-based activities of the kindergarten,strategies of planning of Theme-based activity areas of the kindergarten and strategies of materials input in the theme-based activity areas.These will provide all preschool teachers and their creation of constructivism theme-based activity areas of the kindergarten with relevant reference.
