| Due to its systematic and flexible nature, the Kindergarten Theme Curriculum is being used by an increasing number of kindergartens as one of the key ways to implement the curriculum. It is an activity in which children carry out independent observation and exploration of their surroundings and things around a central content(i.e.a theme)with the guidance and support of the teacher at the right time and in the right way. This study uses case studies, interviews, observations and documentation. As the theme is a relatively mature one,the teachers have a wealth of experience in designing and implementing them.In this way,the current situation of the design and implementation of the ’Colourful Autumn’ curriculum is explored from the perspective of children’s key experiences, and the problems that exist in the design and implementation of the curriculum are analysed accordingly. The thesis also aims to improve and enhance the development of thematic programmes. In addition,it is hoped that this thesis will provide teachers with new ways of developing thematic curricula,i.e.by building a new view of the child in order to further develop a comprehensive understanding of the design and implementation of thematic curricula, thereby enhancing teachers’ capacity to design and implement curricula. Finally,it is hoped that this study will provide inspiration to other kindergartens in their thematic teaching activities. |
