The new century has witnessed the new opportunities and challenges to the education. Especially in recent years, the rapid development of information technology (IT) and the wide use of it have a tremendous impact on people's work and life. As a product of the social development, education has also been influenced by the IT.In recent years, many foreign experts and scholars have researched the children's activities and learning in the IT environment. The results show that children's awareness of the communication and cooperation have increased with the use of computers. In China, many scholars have also researched different groups of children and found that with the support of computers children learn well. The computer is beneficial to the children's language development and logic reasoning ability.However, the questions that how to choose and program the appropriate soft wares and course wares, how to integrate the kindergarten courses and computer software or courseware contents and how to carry out the children's activities in the computer areas, have become the research objectives for IT experts and preschool educationists. Beginning with carrying the theme activities in computer areas this thesis will attempt to research the role that such teaching method played in the children's physical and mental development.This paper is divided into five sections—Introduction, Literature review, Case study of the children's theme activities based on the IT environment, results and discussion and the future prospects.In Chapter I, the research background, significance and the main contents are clarified in this introduction part.In Chapter II, with the understanding of the definition of "kindergartens' theme activities" the research subject is presented. Then the current study is introduced by analyzing the literature review in China and abroad.In Chapter III, the research paper is written on the basis of the questionnaires on the IT activities in the Wuhan kindergartens, in which the IT teaching in the kindergartens is analyzed. With the help of the cases of theme activities in the kindergartens, the necessity of conducting the thesis is analyzed.In Chapter IV, mainly from the construction of the IT environment and the carrying of the theme activities, the children's theme activities based on the IT technology are clarified in details. Such research can provide a teaching mode for the kindergartens to reference. In Chapter V, the problems and the advice in this thesis are pointed out and the theme activities based on the IT environment are concluded.The research of the theme activities based on the IT environment for children 5-6 years old is carried out by many scholars from various angles. This thesis mainly uses the paradigm of the literature review and design considering the actual practice of the kindergartens and the author's own viewpoints. It aims to provide help to the IT teaching in the kindergartens.
