A Study On The Link Of Social Work Service Resources For Rural Left-behind Elderly

With the development of professional social work in China and the country’s attention to solving the problem of rural left-behind elderly people,social work has been gradually integrated in the care service for the left-behind old people in the rural area.Resources offer support for the needs of left-behind old people in the rural area.The resource is the key to solving some social issues such as insufficient daily care for the left-behind old people in the rural area,lack of nursing for the disabled,and lack of spiritual comfort.Under the background of incomplete social work service resource system,studying social work resource linking for the left-behind old people in the rural area has become an important task to solve social issues of the left-behind old people in the rural area and to guarantee effectiveness of social work service.Based on the J social work service agencies to carry out rural left-behind elderly social work service project as an example,study how social workers in resource integration and resource mobilization way for rural left-behind elderly link social work service resources.Guided by social system theory and social capital theory,the author applied participant observation method,case study method and literature research method.The author tried to analyze resource source and current situation of social work service for the left-behind old people in the rural area from seven aspects: government,society,market,social organization,community,family and individual.Then,the author cognized the importance of resource linking in social work service for the left-behind old people in the rural area.Based on the predecessors’ research achievements,two resource linking modes(i.e.resource integration and resource mobilization)were summarized.To explore social work service resource linking ways for the left-behind old people in the rural area,the author adopted case study method and took “demonstration project of humanistic care for rural left-behind old people in the old revolutionary base area” implemented by J social work service organization for example.In the process of social work service implementation for the left-behind old people in the rural area,the author analyzed and concluded the resource types needed in the social work service from the perspectives of resource nature and purpose.In addition,resource linking ways,the resources linked and the application effect were deeply discussed.The research shows that,three main conclusions are drawn.Firstly,the resources available in social work service for the left-behind old people in the rural area should be integrated to meet the needs of the left-behind old people in the rural area.Secondly,self-organized resources of the left-behind old people in the rural area should be fully utilized,and the potential of the left-behind old people in the rural area should be explored.Thirdly,resource organization linkage pattern of “professional social work organizations + universities + communities + other social organizations” should be constructed to achieve mutual supplementation of resource advantages.Finally,some suggestions for practice inadequacy were proposed as follows: to construct the cooperation platform and promote communication of different professional persons;to establish volunteer resource library and guarantee sustainability of social resources;to expand fund resources and achieve “self-hemopoiesis” function.
