This study is to investigate the current status of posttraumatic growth(PTG),social support and locus of control in exceptional children's parents.The study explored the relationship among posttraumatic growth(PTG),social support and locus of control of exceptional children's parents.The study explored the social support the intermediary effect between PTG and locus of control in exceptional children's parents.Purpose is for special children parents' psychological intervention to provide advice,promote the exceptional parents' mental health.The study used PTGI(Post-traumatic Growth Inventory),SSRS(Social Support Rating Scale),IPC(Internality,Powerful-others and Chance Scale)and background information to examine 330 exceptional children's parents from 2 children's rehabilitation institutions in Xi'an City and conducted statistical analysis through SPSS 20.0.The results of the research are as follows:(1)Three kinds of exceptional children's parents in the locus of control,PTG and social support score is not the same,The sources of locus of control in cerebral palsy children's parents was significantly higher than intellectual disabilities children's parents and hearing handicap children's parents(p<0.001),hearing handicap children's parents in PTG and social support scores was significantly higher than that cerebral palsy children's parents and intellectual disabilities children's parents(p<0.001).(2)There was marked significant positive correlation among the various PTG dimensions and its total score,the various social support dimensions and its total score of exceptional children's parents(p<0.001,p<0.01).There was marked significant negative correlation among the various PTG dimensions and its total score,the locus of control total score,powerful others dimension and chance dimension of exceptional children's parents(p<0.01).There was marked significant negative correlation among the various PTG dimensions and its total score,internality dimension of exceptional children's parents(p<0.01).There was marked significant positive correlation among the various social support dimensions,internality dimension of exceptional children's parents(p<0.01).There was marked significant negative correlation among the various social support dimensions,powerful others dimension and chance dimension of exceptional children's parents(p<0.01).(3)Exceptional children parents' social support significant positive influenced their PTG(p<0.001),exceptional children parents' locus of control significant negative influenced their PTG(p<0.05),exceptional children parents' locus of control significant negative influenced their social support(p<0.001).(4)Support is a mediator variable between locus of control and PTG.Conclusion:(1)Three kinds of exceptional children's parents,locus of control of the highest scoring for cerebral palsy children's parents,PTG as well as the highest score of social support for hearing handicap children's parents.(2)Exceptional children parents'social support level is higher,the higher their level of PTG,exceptional children's parents locus of control the higher the score,then they lower the level of PTG and social support.(3)Social support and locus of control is a exceptional children's parents PTG important predictive factor,locus of control is also a exceptional children's parents the important predictive factor.(4)Locus of control influence PTG through social support indirectly.Suggestions:(1)Pay attention to exceptional children parents' psychological needs,guide their positive psychological feelings.(2)Pay attention to exceptional children parents' locus of control condition,guide them to the correct attribution.(3)Pay attention to exceptional children parents' knowledge,the economy,the information demand,improve the level of their social support.
