"Compulsory education English Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)" points out:"in English teaching,the basic knowledge of language refers to the rules,definitions,concepts and usage of pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,function and topic.It is not only to cultivate students’ verbal ability,but also to teach students the necessary pronunciation,vocabulary and grammatical knowledge,while functions and topics are the work platform that converts the rules of language into sentences and texts.This requires teachers to focus on developing students’ comprehensive ability to use English and realize the transformation of curriculum functions on the basis of grasping the basic knowledge of language.Effective vocabulary teaching is the most basic requirement for implementing the new curriculum standard.Although the research of vocabulary teaching in the past ten years has been paid more attention and the results of the research have begun to take shape,with the development and progress of the times,higher demands have been put forward for the students’ ability to use the language,and the research of vocabulary teaching needs to be developed continuously.Therefore,in view of the shortcomings of the traditional English Vocabulary Teaching in primary school,this paper carries out a practical study on the topic based English vocabulary teaching.The literature and books of related topics,"vocabulary teaching" and "topic in language teaching" are collected,collated,analyzed and evaluated by the literature research method,and the existing research results related to the topic and vocabulary teaching are understood,and the topic is drawn to the teaching of English vocabulary in primary school.In order to realize the importance of the theoretical research and demonstrate the value of this study,we have made an evaluation indicator table,carried out the teaching design and the observation and study of the practice of primary English class in primary English classroom practice based on the topic based English vocabulary teaching,and explored the setting and implementation of the topic.The case analysis method,in view of the topic setting and the implementation steps,analyzes the related cases,and gives the suggestions for improvement,and summarizes and analyzes the points of attention in the practical activities of the primary school English vocabulary teaching based on the topic,to remind the teachers to pay more attention and give countermeasures in practice.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which expounds the questions,collating and analyzing the information reviewed,summarizing the research status at home and abroad,defining the concept of the core concept topic,"vocabulary teaching" and "topic based vocabulary teaching",and clarifying the purpose and significance of the research,the process of research and the research process.Methods,as well as research ideas and technical routes.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of this article,which is based on the theory of constructivism,the theory of information processing,the theory of schema,and the theory of "doing middle school" by Dewey.The third chapter is the comparison between the topic based vocabulary teaching and the traditional vocabulary teaching,and clarifies that the traditional vocabulary teaching has the characteristics of mechanical and separability.The vocabulary teaching based on the topic has the characteristics of appropriateness and applicability,and two vocabulary teaching parties are given in the aspects of teaching emphasis,activity extension,and student learning interest.The contrast of the method gives prominence to the advantages of topic based vocabulary teaching.The fourth chapter is about the investigation and study of the primary school English vocabulary teaching based on the topic.By using the investigation method,the purpose of investigation,the object of investigation,the method of investigation and the analysis of the results are expounded.Through the setting of the evaluation index table,we focus on the two aspects of the topic setting and the implementation steps.The fifth chapter is the problems and suggestions for improvement in the course of teaching practice,including the issue of topic setting and implementation,and the rationalization of related problems.The last part is the concluding remarks,which analyzes the deficiencies in the study and prospects for the topic based primary English vocabulary teaching.
