After two world wars, the British hegemony in the Middle East began to slip down from its peak. Britain have gradually lost the solid control to the Middle East since it ended domination of Palestine, the last piece of land in the Middle East. During over 40 years from the first to the fifth Middle East war, British position in the Middle East had been gradually replaced by the US and Soviet Union, the UK visible trade to the Middle East was sharing a declining proportion in its whole visible foreign trade. This article is divided into five chapters altogether. The first chapter focuses on the visible trade between the United Kingdom and the Middle East during 1948 to 1956. Israel built and the First Middle East War broke up.The UK was intending to maintained its domination by strengthening relationship with the Middle East countries, especially Arab, In order to keep friendly relations with them, the United Kingdom kept the distance from Israel which was hostile to the Arab countries. The second chapter focuses on the visible trade between the United Kingdom and the Middle East during 1957 to 1966.Britain and France planed to safeguard their interests by defeating the Egypt's nationalization of the Suez Canal with military operation. Through the good offices of France, UK agreed Israel, which was hostile to Egypt, to participate in plan, then the second Middle East war broke out. Britain's strategic cooperation affected oil trade of UK and the Arab oil-producing countries in and early after wartime. Although Britain and Israel had a short time collaboration, due to strategic divergences, their arm trade made no significant progress. The third chapter focuses on the visible trade between the United Kingdom and the Middle East during 1967 to 1972.1n the third Middle East war, for their own interests, UK actively supported Israel. Arab oil-producing countries set oil embargo to the UK and the countries who gave support to Israel, which seriously impact the UK economy. In order to maintain oil trade, UK made a quick but unwilling separation with Israel. Although the weapon shortage caused by the war brought a great potential to the UK arm sale, penetration of US and Soviet Union in this region led the arm sales turned out to be unsatisfied. The forth chapter focuses on the visible trade between the United Kingdom and the Middle East during 1973 to 1981.With the "Punishment" brought by the third Middle East War, UK Kept neutral in the forth Middle EAST War. However, OPEC utilized "OilWeapon" to increase oil prices in the war, which made UK oil trade expenses exceedingly increased. Under economic pressure, the UK reevaluated function of arm sale, and meanwhile positively developed arm sales with the Middle East countries. The fifth chapter focuses on the visible trade between the United Kingdom and the Middle East during 1982 to 1990. Although the fifth Middle East War had little influences on the visible trade between UK and Middle East countries, the series of reasons such as falling trend in international oil prices, reducing production of Arab oil producing countries and growth in UK North Sea oil Field benefits had became the main factors in the wind down of UK and Middle East oil trade expenditure. UK arm sales to Israel sank into a decline in the war, but arm sales to the other Arab countries like Oman and Saudi Arabia ran into a sharp increase.Through five Middle East war, the United Kingdom-the appearance of visible trade in the Middle East, we can draw some law or revelation:First, on the whole, the war against the British in the Middle East-the Middle East's visible trade is influential, but only short-term a. Secondly, after the Soviet Union to join the fierce competition in the Middle East, United Kingdom-influence in the Middle East to the Middle East war of visible trade is not large.
