Research On The Effects Of Relationship Capital And Relationship Maintenance On Enterprises' R&D Cooperation Performance

More R&D cooperation form under the background of economic globalization and increasingly fierce competition, from which the enterprise can not only gain needed resources but also deduce risks and costs. But cultural differences and low trust of conflict can explain the unsatisfactory results of R&D cooperation. With the development of Social Capital theory, it is very important to improve enterprises' R&D cooperation performance especially under the background of "relationship" culture with Chinese characteristics. Attach importance to "soft" factors, establish and maintain cooperative relations to ensure the smooth progress of R&D cooperation during the whole process.First, the paper looks back upon theories, correlation ship of relationship capital, relationship maintenance and R&D cooperation performance. Cooperation experience has been added into the research. The paper takes single enterprise during the R&D cooperation as the research object. The paper builds a theoretical framework and put forward research hypotheses and measures the variables through the questionnaire survey. Next, structural equation model has been used to deal with the data and test the assuming model. Finally, the paper puts forward the further suggestions of the research after the limitations of the research and some suggestions after discussion of the results.The empirical analysis shows a high fit of the assuming model, high degree of reliability and validity via 173 valid data. Based on the empirical analysis, the results show that: trust and commitment of relationship capital have significant positive effects on relationship maintenance and R&D cooperation performance; relationship maintenance has no significant positive effects on R&D cooperation performance. Cooperation experience makes significant differences between different groups. Different measures should been taken to different partners during the R&D cooperation process to achieve the performance mainly by building up and maintaining cooperation relationship.
