Technical Application And Efficiency Analysis On Banana Planters In Guangxi

The purpose of this paper is to research the application of banana production technology from the perspective of economics of agricultural technology.Research issues include three aspects:the supply and demand of banana production technology,fanners’ preference of banana production technology and the relevant influencing factors,contribution rate and productivity of technological progress.This paper chooses the controlled-release fertilizer and fertilizer integration technology as typical,and the research object of this study is 285 banana farmers from ten districts in Guangxi Autonomous Region.The methods used in this are known as the combination of literature study,expert consultation,field investigation,qualitative research and quantitative analysis.The research framework was constructed from three aspects.Firstly,statistical analyzed the input-output of banana production and qualitative analyzed the production technology supply and demand.Secondly,took the fertilizer integration technology as an example,comparative analyzed the differences of personal endowments,production characteristics and technical sense between technology adopters and non adopters.Then,it adopted binary Logistic model to empirically study of factors affecting the banana growers’ technology choice behaviors and technical requirements:Thirdly,took the controlled-release fertilizer as an example,statistical analysis on the basic situation of banana production,and analyzed technical contribution rate based on the elasticity of substitution method.Finally,estimated the technology efficiency of controlled-release fertilizer application by using DEA model.In conclusion,we state that banana industry in Guangxi is moving forward through the difficulties and setbacks due to the production technology innovation and promotion:However,there exists some problems in the management and production scale,banana production mainly rely on resource inputs,marketing channels,risk preference to new technology of production decision makers,banana income proportion,banana planting scale and land sources and etc all effect the technical preferences of Guangxi banana planters.The popularization and application of water-fertilizer optimum management technology is not smooth,such as controlled-release fertilizer and fertilizer integration technology.On the one hand,the reasons are technologies own imperfections and the shortage of extension workers.On the other hand,banana growers pay no attention to the technology innovation.At the same time,there is a big gap in the production efficiency and application effect of new technology between banana farmers and experts.Therefore,more exchanges and cooperation between farmers and experts,improving the banana farmers technical quality,banana plantation implements standard manage and etc have great significance to promote the development of banana industry.
