Analyses Of Banana Planters’Technology Selection Preferences And Relevant Impact Factors In Guangxi

Banana is an important economic crop and grain crop. It’s also a fruit of the largest selling in the world, and one of the most famous fruit nationwide. China is the world’s second largest producer of banana, and is also the first banana consumption nation around the world. In southern China, banana industry has become one of the pillar industries promote agricultural efficiency and rural incomes. Since2013, banana production and acreage in Guangxi has respectively ranked second and third in China.Since the1990s, our banana production technology has undergone two major leaps which promoted the progress of our banana technology, and greatly improved the development of the banana industry. Although scientific and technological achievements for banana are emerging, every year a large number of scientific and technological achievements have through the identification and been awarded. Yet unfortunately, most technologies have not been timely promoted, and the diffusion area of some technologies is very limited. Therefore, urgent task at this stage is how to take effective measures to transform banana production technology with potential productivity into practical productive forces, improve the conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements, and reduce the large amount of waste of human, physical and financial resources. Conversion of banana production technology productivity is indeed an important factor affecting the banana technology progress, yet it is not the fundamental cause. Previous research results show that the behavior of banana growers technology choices directly affect the promotion of banana production technology and produce a restraining effect, thus, the premise to solve this problem is to understand the behavior of banana grower technology choices, to conduct differentiated technology promotion in accordance with different types of farmers in different regions, and to promote the transformation of banana scientific and technological achievements.Based on the micro perspective of farmers, this thesis analyzes farmers’preference of eight categories banana production technology and the relevant influencing factors. On the basis of banana planters’ actual requirements, and take banana planters as the subjects, this thesis is supported by household sampling survey data took from257banana retailers,40banana enterprises and17cooperatives of banana main producing areas in Guangxi. It analyzes farmers’ priority demand for banana production technology and the relevant influence factors of their choice behavior, and proposes corresponding suggestions for different types of farmers in different regions to promote agricultural extension, improve banana production technology. It adopts binary Logistic model to empirically study of factors affecting the technology needs of banana growers, and reflects the current issues of technology promotion mechanisms through farmers’ technology choice behavior and technical requirements, as well as the willingness to accept technical services, so that to effectively improve the country’s macro-control mechanism, establish a demand-driven technology promotion mechanism, achieve coordination of technology supply and demand, improve the conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements of bananas.The results show that the four categories which are mostly needed by banana retailers, banana enterprises and cooperatives are new varieties technology, fertilization, pest control technology and high-quality management techniques, and the last three technologies have distinctive regional differences. Characteristics of production decision makers, family factors, organizational factors, risk factors, and technical information services and etc all affect the technical preferences of Guangxi banana planters in varying degrees. Therefore, promotion mechanism of banana production technologies should be focus on banana growers’ needs, combine technologies with supply and demand, and conduct differentiated technology promotion in accordance with different types of farmers in different regions, so as to promote the optimization of banana production technology, and enhance industrial competitiveness.
