| With the high-speed development of city commercial banks,it became an important part of domestic financial system.The policy of trans-regional operation changes frequently these years.Some scholars think that blind expansion will cause immeasurable risk,while the others think those banks clinging to a single city may can't meet the needs of their potential clints.There is still no general agreement whether should city commercial banks base on local place or go out.Furthermore,with few study on the trans-regional operation of commercial banks in western regions,this paper may provides reference for the future development of city commercial banks in the west.This article includes the following aspects.First,arranging relevant literatures which are related to the trans-regional operation of commercial banks around the world,having a certain degree of understanding of the problems and opportunities that banks are facing during the cross regional operation.Making generalizations of the analysis methods in researches in recent years.Then,having a general introduction about the current situation,sort of mode and problems of trans-regional operation of city commercial banks,both in national scale and western regions.Moreover,in this collection of cross region management datas of twenty-three city commercial banks in western regions,this paper analyses the effects of trans-regional operation through regression analysis based on the data from year 2007 to 2014.In order to form more accurate conclusions,this article deals with the sample selection bias problem with the Heckman two-stage model.Results suggest that trans-regional operation have a negative impact on the performance of the city commercial banks in western regions.In the end,the conclusion of this paper may be able to provide empirical support for the development of city commercial banks in western regions,lies the theoretical foundation of regulatory policies. |
