Overseas farmland investment of Chinese enterprises is "going out" and of typical cases of domestic and foreign markets and resources. Based on special circumstances, China's overseas investment in farmland, directly or indirectly shoulder the important mission to ensure national food security. Foreign investment in China's domestic arable food security impact has been unknown, in order to be more targeted, more efficient development of relevant policies, which require quantitative cognition.Objective: To study based on domestic food production capacity, on the basis of consideration of Chinese investment overseas farmland grain production capacity, China's grain self-sufficiency level of research and the impact of Chinese investment in overseas farmland food security. Methods: Study take quantitative analysis method, based on research achievements, collect data, estimate the Chinese domestic food production function and food demand function by stepwise regression and linear regression method, obtained 2000 on the basis of--2014 China's domestic food supply and total demand, estimated Chinese food safety standards and the safety of overseas farmland investment on Chinese food. Results: Stepwise regression results showed that the main factors affecting domestic food production capacity of China's grain sown area, grain disaster and the effective irrigation area, the impact of other factors on food production is not significant. Meanwhile, 2000--2014 China's overseas investment in farmland into infancy stage of rapid development and stable development stage; the degree of China's overseas investment in farmland on China gradually increase food security, and within the expected time of impact continued to rise. The results also show that the Chinese overseas investment in arable land to produce food import rate of 75.6% or more, will have a significant effect and Chinese food security. Conclusions: Chinese overseas farmland investment stage safety produce Chinese food significantly affect the higher threshold, but in the foreseeable future are more likely to secure a significant impact on Chinese food; Chinese overseas farmland investment needs to be further supported by decision-making bodies and guide.
