This paper started with combing three aspects theories about human capital, economic growth, and economic growth on the basis of human capital. From the induction and summary for the existing research results of scholars both at home and abroad, a theoretical foundation of the article has been formed. Then the definition of human capital, human capital types, economic growth in this article are given on this basis. And the economic growth mechanism on two kinds of human capital, the intellectual quality, physical quality, are pointed out, which give an analyzable foundation of the human capital impact on economic growth. To verify the above theory, an empirical analysis both in qualitative and quantitative for human capital and economic growth are carried out. Our analysis generates four salient findings. First, the level of human capital and economic growth and the synergistic effect of them in China are showed decreasing from east to west in turn, either in the view of status or growth pace, also with an evident inter-provincial disparities. Second, relative to economic growth, the regional human capital got a significant advantage while the coordination of them is at a quite low level. The coupling disparities among four main regions and provincial interval are not in a trend of convergence as expected but further expanding. Third, the level of human capital and economic growth is not synchronous, and the central and western regions with backward economic development have higher utilization ratio of human capital. Four, the influence of human capital on economic growth is significantly higher than that of physical quality. In order to extend to a more healthy and sustainable economic growth mode transformation, human capital energy in China need to be released.
