The Interaction Mechanism Of Chinese Enterprises' Overseas R&D Network With Home Country Based On Knowledge Transmission

As Chinese enterprises quicken their pace of going globally,efforts have been made to form R&D networks through methods of launching foreign subsidiaries,establishing R&D institutions or merging and acquiring other enterprises.The enterprises from China,a developing country,are facing the issue,which is how overseas R&D institutions can positively affect enterprises.From the perspective of knowledge transfer,the thesis analyzes the coupling mechanism between R&D networks home and abroad,after which explores effects of overseas R&D institutions on firm behavior and then the whole industrial network.Taking automobile and its spare parts industry as an example,an exploratory analysis of the coupling mechanism between R&D networks home and abroad has been made through theoretical deduction and empirical analysis.81 automobile enterprises in China A–share market from 2009 to 2015 as the sample,the research involves various methods,such as social network analysis,complex network analysis,and panel data analysis.The conclusions are listed as follows:(1)The depth and breadth of the R&D network overseas will affect the role of the enterprise in its home market;(2)The enterprise's innovation performance can be improved if its centrality is higher and its effect of structural holes are higher among the whole industry;(3)The innovation capability of the enterprise can be enhanced after acquiring advanced knowledge from overseas R&D institutions;(4)The degree of internationalization of enterprises and the technology advanced orientation of the overseas subsidiaries is positively correlated with the speed of enterprise knowledge value evolution.According to the conclusions above,the thesis is targeted to provide specific suggestions towards the overseas R&D institutions' establishment as well as their performance in the overall industry network at home.At the end of the thesis,the prospects of this field are described.
