Study On The Evolution Of City Function In The Perspective Of Industrial Chain,Illustrated By The Case Of Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Region

“The 13 th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China” pointed out to promote the coordinated development of regional economy,and its core based on the coordination of city's spatial layout and industrial structure in order to establish a scientific and rational regional economic pattern.Therefore,research on urban functions and industrial structure have a strong practical significance.The current research emphasizes the relationship between internal factors of industry and urban functions but ignores the impact of industrial chain built by inter-industry relations to regional economy.This paper is recognize the Yangtze River Delta region——Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai as the object of research,which is the mature representative of China's regional economy,and analyze the evolution of urban functions from the perspective of industrial chain,aims to explore the interaction mechanism between the process of urban function evolution and industrial chain.Firstly,this paper combs the relevant theoretical foundation of the city function and industry chain.Then it starts from Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai regional economic status,to define the scope of the study and outline the basic situation.And then this paper elaborates the determination methods of city function and industrial chain.Next the paper analyzes the evolution of a ten-year span in 2002,2007 and 2012 with the Nelson method,APL model and ArcGIS software.Through the combination of data and legend,the empirical research including three dimensions such as urban function evolution,industrial chain evolution and the coupling analysis above,trying to finding out the characteristics and trends in the process of urban function evolution.Finally,based on the empirical study,this paper point out some relevant conclusions including the coupling of functional distribution and industrial chain in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and its characteristics and trends,and then the paper gives several optimization strategies for Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai regional economic development proposals such as developing appropriate dislocation,deepening the core of Shanghai and the surrounding cities supporting the convergence,speeding up the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries to cope with rising costs of raw materials.
