The Analysis Of Urbanization Features And Influential Factors In China

Urbanization is a process which population of nation or region from rural areas moved to towns,the countryside gradually evolved into urban,while the number of urban population and urban Increasing.The key of urbanization is human's modernization.Only realized population urbanization,can we improve our country's urbanization level.Actively and steadily promoting urbanization is not only an urgent task,but also a long-term and arduous task.In 2015,China's urbanization rate reached to 56.1%and according to the laws of urbanization development,it was in accelerating development stage now.However,whether compared with the developed countries or the world average level of urbanization,ours is still lagging behind.Based on this,this article investigates the features of urbanization process and analyze the reasons for the delayed urbanization in China,so that we can find strategies to boost the sound and fast development of urbanization.The theory of binary structure,population push-pull theory and the laws of urbanization evolution were elaborated in this article as theoretical support.Then using the town evolution laws,referencing other countries' experience on urbanization process and considering the actual situation in China,the urbanization process is divided into five stages-the initial stage of urbanization,dramatic fluctuations stage,stagnation retrogression stage,steadily development stage and accelerated development stage.Then according to the different stages of urbanization development,we summed up some features of our countries' urbanization process.The Government play a dominant role in the process,and also because of various population mobility restrictions,which led urbanization in the ups and downs and the level of urbanization has been lagging behind industrialization.The urbanization process of China will rely more on external forces and the development of urbanization was unbalanced.After that,Using an empirical analysis to look for the reasons which caused the lagging and uneven development by empirical.This article selected some indicatorsfrom six aspects as economic development,industrial development,social investment,science and technology education,the degree of opening up and traffic information.Firstly,to find the more associated indicators of the urbanization development by grey relational analysis.Then to analyze of influencing factors of urbanization by building an empirical model by Eviews8.0 software,based on the time series data for the period 1978-2014.Through the empirical findings,we found that,the development of tertiary industry,urban-rural income gap and consumption level,the development of science and technology education are the crucial factors affecting China's urbanization rate.Finally,based on the above conclusions,the paper puts forward some policy suggestions:planning a reasonable pattern of urban;accelerating the development of tertiary industry;promoting urban-rural integration;improving residents the level of consumption;increasing investment in science and technology;optimizing of Higher Education resources.
