With the arrival of knowledge economy and the rapid development of market globalization,the internal and external environment of enterprises become more complicated than in the past.Dynamic and uncertain of environment have imporved greatly.Thus,the traditional organization structure,operation concept and management mode of enterprises are difficult to meet the need of competition.In management practice,more and more enterprises realize that they should adjust their strategies to dynamic environment through strategic change.At the same time,scholars continue making a deep research on business strategic change.However,previous research focused on the influencing factors or process mechanism of business strategic change but paid less attention to the effect of strategic leadership on business strategic change.Management practice shows that the strategic leadership of senior managers has a significant impact on whether enterprises could achieve a success in the initiation and implementation of strategic change.And in the background of knowledge economy,organizational learning has a close connection with business strategic change and is vitally important to maintain competitiveness for enterprises.Therefore,this study takes organizational learning as a mediator variable to explore the influence mechanism of strategy leadership on business strategic change,and it has certain theoretical and practical value.In order to clarify the impact of strategic leadership on business strategic change,this study builds a model of "strategic leadership-organizational learning-business strategic change",which is based on the theories of strategic leadership,organizational learning and business strategic change and draws on the existing research results of strategic leadership.We conduct a questionnaire survey and collect 195 questionnaires of the sample firms.We use software of SPSS 19.0 and LISREL8.70 to analyze questionnaire data and verify the relationship between strategy leadership and business strategic change,and the mediation role of organizational learning,including descriptive statistics analysis,reliability analysis,validity analysis,multiple regression analysis and structural equation modeling analysis.The results of data analysis show that strategy leadership and its various dimensions have a positive impact on strategic change.Among them,strategic thinking capability and strategic planning capability exert more significant influence on the pace of business strategic change than strategic decision-making capability and strategy executive capability;strategic thinking capability has more pronounced effect on strategic change strength than the other three dimensions.In addition,under the background of knowledge economy,strategic leadership and its various dimensions affect business strategic change through the mediation role of organizational learning.Correlation analysis and discussion in the study will help us understand more clearly the effect of strategic leadership on the initiation and implementation of strategic change in the ultra-competitive environment.Also,this study has important guiding significance to stimulate the learning enthusiasm of organization members and enhance firm’s overall learning and innovation capability.Moreover,it not only helps enterprises effectively promote business strategic change but also enriches and develops the theory of strategy leadership.
