Ethical leadership has the dual role of "moral man" and "moral administrator",in order to achieve the goals of the organization,managers and subordinates in the communication process show with individual behavior of ethics,and through two-way communication,strengthen the management and decision-making process of promoting the moral behavior in subordinates.Ethical leadership with fairness,respect and care for subordinates,good communication,decision-making will consider moral consequences,reward and other characteristics,so under their leadership,employees will have higher job satisfaction and strong sense of belonging,they are employees fully trust and highly recognized leadership.The followership of the employee is based on leadership identity.Therefore,employees will make the values and vision of ethical leadership into there own values and vision,and then constantly self affirm,self adjust,as far as possible to be consistent with the leadership in action and thought,in order to actively invest in various tasks assigned by the leadership.Based on identity theory and follow theory,this research examined the relationship between ethical leadership and the followership,and the mediating role of leadership identity.After three-wave data collection,this paper got 215 samples,and used the structural equation model(SEM)to test the hypothesis and the research model.The main conclusions are drawn as following:(1)Ethical leadership has a positive effect on leadership identity.(2)Leadership identity has a positive effect on the followership of employees.(3)Leadership identity mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and the followership of the employees.(4)Moral identity plays an important role in ethical leadership and leadership identity.Finally,this paper provided effective managerial suggestions for management practice and pointed out the future prospects.
