A Study On Problems Of The Economic Cooperation Between China And ASEAN

The rapid and sustainable international economic integration development is the modern world economy tendency.At present,the bilateral trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has been strengthened.In the political and economic regional integration development,China and ASEAN member countries are having the growing influence on the world stage.The establishment of China ASEAN free trade area is the beginning of East Asian regional integration,which is a great practical significance to the development of the global economy,so we conduct the research on the trade cooperation between China and ASEAN..Based on the domestic and foreign researches,this paper expounded the concept of trade cooperation between ASEAN and China,and related theories,including regional economic integration,free trade area,comparative advantage theory and the intra industry trade theory.This paper researched the past of China and ASEAN trade cooperation and current situation,including the development of ASEAN,ASEAN and China cooperation development process,China and ASEAN Free Trade Area,the bilateral trade volume,trade structure and the significance of trade cooperation between ASEAN and China.According to the present situation of China and ASEAN trade cooperation,we deeply analyzed the main problems in ASEAN and China trade cooperation,including: political issues(international political status,territorial disputes),economic environment issues(international economic situation,Chinese The Belt and Road Initiative strategy),the economic situation of ASEAN countries,internal problems of trade cooperation(products competition,tax barriers restrictions of China and ASEAN Free Trade Zone Development),other problems(infrastructure construction and cultural differences).Based on the gravity model,the cross section of data(2000-2015),using empirical method of random effects,further analysis of the Chinese trade cooperation with ASEAN countries in GDP,shipping distance,political disputes effects on China ASEAN trade.In order to solve the existing problems between the two party and propose measures to promote economic cooperation between China and ASEAN member countries,China and ASEAN members need to continue the development of free trade zone;to relax the restrictions on investment access standards;to resolve territorial disputes in the South China Sea through negotiations and consultations;continue to strengthen bilateral economic,political,cultural and other cooperation aspects.
